The most famous attractions that Tanzania has to offer tourists are in close proximity to the Kenyan border were Africa’s highest peak, Mt. Kilimanjaro, is situated. Serengeti National Park
The seasonal migrations of animals at the Serengeti National Park are extremely popular with nature lovers around the world. Spectacular game viewing from the Ngorongoro Reserve (an extinct volcanic caldera) is a winner with safari adventurers. Large herds of zebra, wildebeest and black rhino inhabit the reserve, as well as prides of lions.

Tanzania Islands
Tourism activity is also concentrated on the coast, particularly the islands of Zanzibar, Pemba and Mafia. The islands attract large numbers of holidaymakers with diving and game fishing activities. Gombe National Park in the west is known as the site of Dr. Jane Goodall's studies of chimpanzee behaviour.

A mountainous landscape is to the northeast where Mt. Kilimanjaro is located. Lake Victoria and Lake Tanganyika, which is Africa’s deepest lake renowned for unique species of fish, are to the north and west respectively. The Kalambo Falls, the second highest in Africa, can be found close to the southern tip of Lake Tanganyika. A large plateau with and arable land takes up the majority of Central Tanzania.
