Botswana Vacations
Comprehensive Botswana Vacations Info, Accommodation, Travel Guides, Fabulous Books and Souvenirs
The main Botswana's tourist attractions in Botswana are its game reserves, with hunting and photographic safaris available. Other amazing destinations comprise the Okavango Delta region, which during the rainy season is a maze of waterways, islands, and lakes. In 2005 the tourism industry created employment for 23 000 people and helped broaden Botswana’s economy from resources such as diamonds and beef.

Botswana vacations are ideal for adventurer and nature lover due to the immensely diverse wildlife habitat and temperate climate. There are grasslands, the delta and savannahs where a large number of Blue Wildebeest, antelopes and a wide variety of mammals and bird life can be found. The endangered Wild Dog can be found in large populations in Northern Botswana.
Botswana is the 45th-largest country in the world after the Ukraine. It is similar in size to Madagascar at 231,788 square kilometres and slightly smaller than the state of Texas. The Kalahari Desert covers 70% of Botswana’s land surface. The world’s largest inland delta, the Okavango Delta is in the northwest region. A massive saltpan named the Makgadikgadi Pan is situated in the north. The most prominent landform in southern Africa, the Limpopo River Basin, lies partly in Botswana to the southwest of the country.
