To all planning South Africa Vacations (Cape Town specifically), make sure you visit Montagu Springs in Montagu for the time of your life!
Montagu is only an hour and a half drive from Cape Town and is situated on the longest wine route in the world, Route 66. I recently took a drive there with my significant other and the in-laws. What makes this destination a real winner is that the journey is just as marvellous. Visiting wine estates en route to Montagu was definitely a hightlight for me, with world renowned wineries like Robertson and Graham Beck (fanastic bubblies!) welcoming us. Please use the spittoons or get a designated driver.
The chalets and rooms at the Avalon Springs Hotel are well appointed and affordable. Even if you are not using the hotel accommodation, day visitors are allowed to use the spectacular hot mineral pools at very cheap rates per day. Stepping into the naturally heated mineral pools on a chilly night is absolutely heavenly. There is an olympic-size cold pool for the hot blooded too! Swimming times are from 8h00 to 23h00.
